Description
Lin Queli transmigrated into a “Long Aotian” novel and was bound to a System. (Translator’s Note: A “Long Aotian” is a popular web novel archetype for an overpowered, arrogant male protagonist.) This world was on the brink of collapse because its protagonist, the Long Aotian, had yet to be born. 【System: So, dear Host, in order to save the world, your mission is to seduce the Long Aotian’s biological father—the head of the Immortal Sects, Taxue Xianzun. You must get pregnant with the Xianzun’s seed and give birth to the Long Aotian!】 (TN: “Xianzun” means Immortal Venerable, a title for a powerful cultivator. “Shizun” means Venerable Master.) Lin Queli: ? Wait a minute, what kind of decent person gets a world-saving mission that involves borrowing someone’s seed to have a baby?! Besides, I’m a man! **** Taxue Xianzun, Helan Xue, devoted his life to cultivation, devoid of all feelings and desires. He had been in seclusion for a thousand years, forsaking the mortal world, making him exceptionally difficult to approach. The difficulty level of this seduction target was sky-high. And to top it all off, Lin Queli transmigrated at the very beginning into the body of the original novel’s arch-nemesis: the Demon Lord, leader of all demons and perpetrator of every imaginable evil, who was destined to be killed by Helan Xue and turned into a “human swine.” (TN: A “human swine” is a gruesome form of torture involving the amputation of all four limbs.) Lin Queli: ?? Looking at the frosty-faced Helan Xue before him, Lin Queli went plop and collapsed weakly into his arms, as delicate as a willow in the wind, utterly soft and helpless. “Xianzun… you’re so fierce. I’m so scared, sob.” Demon Lord? Who’s that? Never heard of him. **** Helan Xue’s heart, which had been tranquil for a millennium, had recently begun to throb at his temples every single day. The reason? He had taken on a disciple. This disciple, however, not only showed no ambition for self-improvement but also spent all his days scheming to dual cultivate with him, delusionally hoping to ascend to the heavens in a single step. “Aiya! Shizun, I’ve fallen, it hurts~” The little thing before him called out “Shizun” in a cloyingly sweet voice, then performed a stiff, clumsy slide-tackle into his arms. “…” Absurd. Helan Xue raised a hand to teach him a lesson, only to see the person in his arms huddled there with teary eyes, like an abandoned puppy. Forget it. His disciple was simply too fragile, simple-minded, and foolish. He would have to be taught slowly. **** Later, Lin Queli, his “scheme” having succeeded, patted his round, bulging belly… and ran away. Before long, news spread throughout the Three Realms that Taxue Xianzun was leading an army to exterminate the demons. It was said that he fought his way up the Mount of Demons, eradicating half of the evil in the Demon Realm. That night, on the Mount of Demons, ice and snow weighed down every branch, and the forest was veiled in frost. The Immortal Venerable, his white robes purer than snow, stood at the foot of the mountain with his sword in hand. He stared at his “excessively fragile,” “simple and foolish” disciple, who was now sitting on the Demon Lord’s throne. His voice was ice-cold. “A’Li, come here.”

After Deceiving Shizun into Dual Cultivating, I Ran Away With His Bun Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on After Deceiving Shizun into Dual Cultivating, I Ran Away With His Bun
This title grabbed me immediately, and honestly, the story lived up to the promise of its quirky premise. "After Deceiving Shizun..." is a delightful blend of comedy, romance, and xianxia cultivation, with a dash of drama to keep things interesting. It's a completed story, so you can dive right in without waiting for updates, which is always a plus in my book!
First Impressions
The initial setup is classic transmigration fare: our protagonist finds himself in a novel, tasked with a bizarre mission – boring the male lead's son. The MC's "salted fish" attitude and love for food immediately won me over. His shamelessness in pursuing the ML is hilarious and endearing, and the system's unreliability adds another layer of comedic charm.
What Works Well
The pacing is spot-on. The story moves along briskly, avoiding the common pitfall of becoming bogged down in unnecessary details. The balance between humor, romance, and action is skillfully maintained, and the characters exhibit genuine growth throughout their journey. I especially appreciated the development of their family dynamic. The interactions between the MC, ML, and their son are incredibly sweet and wholesome, creating a family unit that is truly heartwarming. It's a joy to watch them care for and support each other.
Areas of Concern
While I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, there were a few aspects that gave me pause. Some intimate moments leaned into dub-con territory, which made me feel uncomfortable. I also felt that certain parts of the story felt rushed, and could have benefited from a slower, more deliberate pace. More time spent developing the family bond would have left a more emotionally resonant impact.

Final Verdict
Despite these minor flaws, "After Deceiving Shizun..." is an enjoyable and well-written novel. The humor is on point, the romance is sweet (for the most part), and the characters are engaging. If you're looking for a lighthearted xianxia with a focus on family and a healthy dose of silliness, this one is definitely worth checking out. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
