My Thoughts on Winter Rabbit in Wonderland

"Winter Rabbit in Wonderland" is definitely a ride, and not the tame tea party you might expect from the title. This novel throws you headfirst into a dark, twisted version of Wonderland, and it's not afraid to get its hands dirty. I went in expecting a fluffy fantasy and got something far more complex and, at times, disturbing.

First Impressions

Initially, I wasn't entirely sold. The first few chapters felt a little disorienting as I tried to grasp the world and its inhabitants. But, I stuck with it, and I'm glad I did. The unique premise and the promise of a strong female lead kept me intrigued. I was definitely curious to see where this rabbit hole led.

What Works Well

The world-building is a standout. This isn't your grandmother's Wonderland; it's a brutal place filled with morally grey characters and constant danger. The female lead is a force to be reckoned with. She's been through hell, and it's made her incredibly resilient and resourceful. I loved that she wasn't a damsel in distress and could hold her own against anyone, even her obsessive male admirers. The romance, while unconventional, is compelling. The male leads are all deeply flawed, even outright psychopaths, but their devotion to the MC is undeniable. It's a slow-burn, and the MC's initial denseness adds to the charm. The plot is engaging, with plenty of action, intrigue, and gore to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Areas of Concern

The ending left me feeling a little unsatisfied. The multiple alternative endings felt somewhat disjointed and didn't provide the closure I was hoping for. I also felt that some of the side characters, especially one of the male leads, didn't get the resolution they deserved. The translation could also be improved, as some passages felt clunky or confusing.
