My Thoughts on The Protagonist’s Ill White Moonlight, He Will Die Soon
"The Protagonist’s Ill White Moonlight, He Will Die Soon" is definitely a unique read, and not one I'd readily recommend to everyone. It's a quick transmigration (QT) novel with a dark premise, and the execution is... polarizing, to say the least. I went in expecting a certain type of angst, but what I found was far more complex and, at times, disturbing.
First Impressions
The initial concept is intriguing: our MC transmigrates into the "ill white moonlight" character in various worlds, usually destined to be a tragic figure loved by the male lead. I was excited to see how the MC would navigate these roles, but quickly realized this wasn't your typical transmigration story.
What Works Well
The angst is definitely a strong point, if you're into that sort of thing. Each arc features a doomed romance, with the MC meeting a tragic end. The author doesn't shy away from the darker aspects of love and obsession, and the male leads are often left reeling in regret and despair. I appreciated that the story often continued after the MC's death, showing the aftermath and the impact on the remaining characters. I also found the MC's detached approach to his roles quite fascinating. He seems to view each world as a task, and his dedication to fulfilling his objective, regardless of the emotional cost, is strangely compelling.
Areas of Concern
The biggest issue, in my opinion, is the MC's character. He's often portrayed as a manipulative and even cruel individual, using others to achieve his goals without any apparent remorse. I struggled to connect with him, and at times, found his actions deeply unsettling. The male leads, while sympathetic, also suffer from questionable character traits. Their obsessive behavior and willingness to excuse the MC's actions can be frustrating. The lack of closure in each arc is another point of contention. The MC dies, the ML regrets, and then we move on to the next world without any real resolution.

Final Verdict
"The Protagonist’s Ill White Moonlight, He Will Die Soon" is a dark and angsty read that won't appeal to everyone. If you're looking for a morally ambiguous MC, tragic romances, and a healthy dose of angst, you might find something to enjoy here. However, if you prefer likeable characters, clear resolutions, and a less morally gray narrative, this novel might not be for you. I'd recommend going in with an open mind and a strong stomach.
