The initial chapters expertly establish the high stakes and the constant tension Nie Qinglin faces. I was immediately invested in seeing how she would manage to survive, let alone thrive, in such a dangerous environment.
What Works Well
The characters are definitely a highlight. Nie Qinglin is a compelling protagonist – intelligent, resourceful, and surprisingly resilient given her circumstances.
