The initial setup is promising. We have Evelyn, a strong-willed female protagonist navigating a complex social landscape. The idea of a character actively pursuing alimony, rather than simply being a victim of circumstance, felt refreshing. I was ready for a story of cunning, strategy, and perhaps a little bit of heartwarming development.
What Works Well
The novel shines in its character development, particularly the male lead's transformation. Many found the gradual thawing of his initially cold demeanor to be a highlight, leading to a genuinely cute and engaging relationship.
