Description
A strange school trip is repeating itself. “Please, Baek Sunwoo. You can’t get hurt. I might really lose it.” “…Gijun. Friends don’t say things like that to each other.” “This is because you and I aren’t just friends.” Whether or not he heard the sound of holding his breath, Gijun thought. There is a problem if someone who dies repeatedly before your eyes and returns each time is considered a friend. Such a friendship should not exist. What truly scared him now was not the training center. Facing monsters, seeing others fall bleeding before his eyes, none of that mattered anymore. “What’s most important to me is that you don’t get into danger.” An obsessive compulsion towards Baek Sunwoo’s safety. Thus began the 11th school trip.

The 11th School Trip Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on The 11th School Trip
"The 11th School Trip" grabbed my attention immediately with its blend of fantasy, mystery, and a dash of the supernatural, all set against the backdrop of a seemingly ordinary academy. The premise alone – a school trip gone horribly wrong, triggering a time loop – had me hooked. After diving in, I can confidently say this novel delivers a compelling and unique experience.
First Impressions
The initial chapters plunge you right into the chaos. Our protagonist and his classmate, the ML, find themselves in a terrifying situation when their school trip turns into a nightmare orchestrated by a sinister cult. The early setup is intriguing, and the mystery surrounding the cult's motives and the students' weak superpowers kept me eager to uncover the truth.
What Works Well
The characters are a major highlight. The MC, initially cold and apathetic due to the trauma of repeated regressions, evolves into a deeply compelling figure. His intelligence and resourcefulness are showcased brilliantly as he navigates each time loop, trying to prevent the ML's death. The ML, a golden boy with hidden depths, is equally captivating. Their relationship, which blossoms slowly amidst the horror, feels genuine and earned. I especially appreciated the way the author handled the MC's initial "obsession" with the ML, portraying it as a result of trauma rather than instant romantic love, which made their eventual romance feel much more meaningful.
The plot is well-paced and full of suspense. The students' weak powers add to the tension, as they can't simply brute force their way out of danger. Instead, they have to rely on strategy and teamwork, leading to some truly creative and engaging "fight" scenes. I found the mystery surrounding the MC's abilities and the overall atmosphere to be particularly well-executed, creating a sense of unease and anticipation. The side characters are also well-developed and have their own arcs, making them feel like integral parts of the story.
Areas of Concern
While I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, I do agree that the climax felt slightly rushed. I would have liked to see a bit more resistance and conflict leading up to the resolution. While the ending was satisfying and wrapped up the major plot points, some elements felt a bit cliché.

Final Verdict
Despite a few minor flaws, "The 11th School Trip" is a fantastic read. The unique premise, well-developed characters, and suspenseful plot make it a standout in the fantasy/mystery genre. If you're looking for a novel with a captivating story, a slow-burn romance, and plenty of twists and turns, I highly recommend giving this one a try.
