My Thoughts on Survival Records of 3650 Days in the Otherworld
"Survival Records of 3650 Days in the Otherworld" presents an interesting premise: a streamer transported to another world. I went in expecting a fun blend of modern technology clashing with fantasy, and while the initial chapters held promise, my overall experience was a mixed bag.
First Impressions
The start is definitely the strongest part of the novel. I was hooked by the YouTube channel dynamic and the main character's initial struggles to adapt. Seeing him leverage his modern knowledge in a new world was entertaining. However, I soon felt a shift in the story. The initial charm faded as the focus drifted away from the streaming aspect and the protagonist's connection to his old life.
What Works Well
The kingdom-building aspect, while not groundbreaking, is probably the most consistent element. I appreciate the author's attempt to show the protagonist's growth and how his perspective changes as he faces new challenges. The interactions with some of the otherworld inhabitants, particularly the Ainos, were a highlight for me. I found them to be a refreshing and wholesome addition to the story. The battles are also fairly well-written, if not overly detailed.
Areas of Concern
Pacing and character development are major issues. The story often skips significant events, leaving me feeling disconnected. For example, the protagonist suddenly gains multiple wives with minimal explanation, and the development of his children is glossed over entirely. I also felt that the author introduced several interesting characters only to seemingly forget about them later. Disciples vanish, and relationships feel rushed and underdeveloped. The time skips can also be jarring, making it difficult to keep track of the timeline and the protagonist's age. I also noticed the protagonist's personality shift was jarring, going from an overweight streamer to a generic "chad."

Final Verdict
"Survival Records of 3650 Days in the Otherworld" has a solid foundation but struggles with execution. While the kingdom-building elements and some of the world-building are enjoyable, the pacing issues, underdeveloped characters, and lackluster romance ultimately detract from the overall experience. It's a decent time-killer if you're looking for casual kingdom building, but don't expect a deeply engaging or emotionally resonant story.
