Okay, I went into this expecting a fun, maybe even cathartic, romp through a world populated by unlikeable characters ripe for the crushing. The initial premise definitely had me hooked. A mob character recognizing the toxic dynamics of an otome game and deciding to rewrite the narrative? Sign me up!
What Works Well
The initial setup is genuinely engaging. I liked the idea of the MC leveraging his knowledge of the game to get ahead. The potential for comedic situations arising from the clash between the game's intended storyline and the MC's actions is definitely there. The idea of recruiting the villainess is interesting, and if executed well, could have led to some satisfying power dynamics.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the execution seems to be where things fall apart. I found that the plot felt inconsistent, as if the author wasn't quite sure where they wanted to take the story. The pacing seems off, with the promised "crushing" and "destroying" happening far too slowly, if at all. I also worry about the character development. The characters seem inconsistent and poorly motivated, making it hard to invest in their arcs.
