While it might not be groundbreaking, it has a certain charm that kept me reading.
First Impressions
Right off the bat, the "European ambience" is apparent, painting a vivid backdrop for the unfolding story. I found the premise intriguing. The initial chapters establish the core conflict well, setting the stage for the misunderstandings and slow-burn romance that are central to the plot. I was immediately drawn to the female protagonist, and I was eager to see how her story would unfold.
What Works Well
The humor is a major strength. The situations the characters find themselves in are often ridiculous, leading to laugh-out-loud moments. The "cute protagonist" is indeed adorable, and her interactions with the Duke are frequently hilarious. I found myself rooting for their relationship to develop, even amidst the chaos. The Duke himself comes across as a genuinely good guy – a total "green flag" as some might say. His patience and understanding towards the FL are endearing and make him a very likable character.
