First Impressions
The initial setup is… intense, to say the least. The premise revolves around a contract, and the power imbalance is palpable. This isn't a story that shies away from exploring potentially toxic behaviors, and that's evident right from the start. It's a novel that demands you confront uncomfortable themes and question the characters' choices.
What Works Well
One of the most compelling aspects of "Not For Sale" is its flawed characters. The male lead is far from perfect, and honestly, I found that refreshing. He's self-centered at times, and his actions definitely have consequences. The story doesn't try to paint him as a saint, and that makes him feel more human, more relatable, despite his questionable decisions. The novel also tackles the evolution of feelings, showing a gradual shift in the characters' perspectives.
