First Impressions
The premise alone caught my eye: childhood friends, a male lead with a questionable personality (to put it mildly), and a heavy dose of amnesia. I was immediately drawn into the world and eager to see how the story would unfold. What Works Well
The characters are the real stars of this show. The male lead, despite his flaws (and there are many!), is fascinating. His "crazy obsession" with the female lead is both disturbing and compelling. The female lead, while sometimes frustratingly naive, is ultimately a strong and resilient character. I particularly enjoyed watching her character evolve as she learned more about the male lead's true nature.
I also appreciated the way the author handled the amnesia trope. It wasn't used as a simple plot device to redeem the male lead, but rather to create more drama and conflict. The angst is palpable, and I found myself rooting for the couple despite their many obstacles. The translation is well done, which made it easy to get lost in the story.
