Description
“It’s easy, isn’t it? To dare to bear someone else’s b*stard child.” She ran away to protect the child in her womb, but eventually he caught up with her. “You thought you could escape so easily by having someone else’s child?” *** It was a contract marriage for two years.During this time, Ah-yeon was nothing more than an invisible person to him. “Ah-yeon, you belong to me until you die.”“…..”“Neither you nor your child can escape me.” His piercing gaze fell on her belly. Ah-yeon instinctively covered it with trembling hands.“Next time, bear my child.”“…..”“Then you can atone by staying by my side. It’s better for loose women like you.”“I’m already carrying someone else’s child, but why are you still doing this…” Ki Joo’s mocking laughter echoed. His cold eyes looked even more menacing.“Don’t worry. I’ll make it so confusing that even you won’t know whose child it is.

My Thoughts on Missing Wife
"Missing Wife" promised a rollercoaster of emotions, and it certainly delivered... something. I went into this novel expecting a possessive alpha male romance, and while it hit some of those notes, the execution left me feeling conflicted.
First Impressions
The premise is classic: a beautiful, somewhat naive female lead caught in the web of a cold, powerful man harboring obsessive tendencies. The initial setup, with the misunderstandings and forced marriage, definitely piqued my interest. I was ready for some angst and drama!
What Works Well
I can see the appeal of the male lead, despite his flaws. He's the classic damaged hero with a difficult past, which explains (though doesn't excuse) his possessive behavior. There were moments where I genuinely felt for him, especially when his vulnerabilities peeked through his tough exterior. I also appreciated that the author attempted to give him some depth beyond just being a controlling jerk. The plot does move at a decent pace, and I found myself wanting to know what would happen next, even when I was frustrated with the characters' choices.
Areas of Concern
Honestly, the biggest issue for me was the female lead's lack of agency. She often felt like a passive participant in her own life, reacting to the male lead's actions rather than driving the plot forward herself. I also struggled with the constant cycle of misunderstandings that seemed to drag on for far too long. It felt like manufactured drama at times. The reliance on non-con and dub-con scenes also made me uncomfortable and detracted from the romance.

Final Verdict
"Missing Wife" is a mixed bag. While it has moments of genuine emotion and a compelling premise, the execution falls short. The problematic power dynamics, frustrating misunderstandings, and somewhat underdeveloped characters kept me from fully investing in the story. If you're a fan of possessive alpha male romances and can overlook some of the more problematic elements, you might find something to enjoy here. However, if you're looking for a healthy, balanced relationship, this probably isn't the book for you. I'm giving it a cautious 3/5.
