My Thoughts on Is My Dad Not a Villain?
"Is My Dad Not a Villain?" is definitely a novel that knows what it is. Jumping into this one, I was immediately aware of the… unique premise, to say the least. With tags like "incest," "R-18," and "guardian relationship" plastered all over it, I knew I was in for a wild ride. Did it deliver? Well, that's a complicated question.
First Impressions
Okay, let's be real. The initial concept is… jarring. A father-daughter relationship with romantic and explicit undertones is a huge red flag for many, and I understand why. The synopsis alone raises eyebrows, and it's clear this novel isn't for the faint of heart or those with strong moral objections to such themes. However, I went in with an open mind, curious to see how the author would handle such a sensitive subject.
What Works Well
Despite the controversial premise, there are aspects of the story that I found surprisingly… engaging? Several readers noted that the relationship, while initially predatory, evolves into something almost… wholesome? (In a very twisted way, of course). The male lead, Dantalion, is portrayed as an obsessive figure, but some found his devotion and the female lead's acceptance of it to be compelling. Also, the female lead, Deline, seems to be a point of attraction for some readers, with some loving her "goofball" personality. The smut, while present, was also mentioned as a positive for those who enjoy that genre.
Areas of Concern
The biggest issue, obviously, is the core relationship. It's a major turn-off for many, and I can't fault anyone for feeling that way. Beyond that, some readers felt the story lost its way after a certain point, with the male lead's "predatory mojo" disappearing too quickly. Some readers also felt that the characters are immature.

Final Verdict
"Is My Dad Not a Villain?" is a novel that will undoubtedly divide readers. If you're open to exploring taboo themes and can stomach the initial premise, you might find something to enjoy in its twisted take on romance and devotion. However, if you're easily offended or have strong moral objections, this is definitely one to skip. For me, the execution was a bit uneven, but the author did create something undeniably unique. I'd give it a cautious recommendation, but only for those who know exactly what they're getting into.
