"Innocence, Corruption" is a wild ride, to say the least. It's a blend of genres – adult, fantasy, psychological, romance, and smut – that somehow manages to create a darkly humorous and, at times, disturbing narrative. It definitely kept me on my toes!
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the unusual premise: a "holy" knight and a priestess caught in a web of desire and obsession. The female lead's brazenness, especially considering her religious position, is genuinely shocking and quite funny. Her pursuit of the male lead is unconventional, bordering on audacious, and it immediately sets the stage for a story that isn't afraid to push boundaries.
What Works Well
The dynamic between the main characters is undeniably captivating. The female lead's calculated pursuit and the male lead's internal conflict between his vows and his desires create a compelling push and pull. The humor, often stemming from the contrast between their roles and their actions, provides a welcome levity amidst the darker themes. The initial concept of the female lead actively pursuing her desires, even in a somewhat vulgar way, is refreshing.
