Description
Seo Do-gyeom, the young master of the mansion, and Yoon Seo-won, the son of the housekeeper. My Thoughts on If You Desire Me
"If You Desire Me" promised a rollercoaster of emotions, and while it delivered on some fronts, it also stumbled in others. Overall, it's a story with compelling elements, especially for those who enjoy a good unrequited love trope.
First Impressions
I was immediately drawn in by the premise: an omegaverse setting with a protagonist pining after a seemingly oblivious alpha. The initial setup of childhood friends and one-sided affection is classic, and I found myself rooting for the MC from the start. I'm always a sucker for a long-suffering protagonist who finally decides to prioritize themselves.
What Works Well
The "chasing arc" is definitely the highlight. There's something so satisfying about watching the tables turn and seeing the previously indifferent ML suddenly scrambling for attention. I particularly enjoyed the internal conflict of the male lead, grappling with societal expectations and his own burgeoning feelings. The push and pull kept me invested, and I was eager to see him finally come to terms with his emotions. The angst was palpable, and I enjoyed the slow burn as the MC tried to move on.
Areas of Concern
Once the main characters actually got together, the story seemed to lose some of its spark. The narrative felt a bit rushed, and the external conflicts, while present, didn't carry the same weight as the initial emotional struggle.

"If You Desire Me" is a mixed bag. The initial unrequited love and chasing arc are compelling and kept me thoroughly engaged. However, the pacing falters in the latter half, and some plot points felt underdeveloped. If you're a fan of the unrequited love trope and don't mind some flaws in the overall narrative, you might find this story enjoyable. However, be prepared for a slight dip in quality once the main couple finally gets together.
