My Thoughts on I Got Divorced And Abandoned My Family
First Impressions
Okay, so I Got Divorced And Abandoned My Family isn't exactly a title that screams "light and fluffy," and honestly, it lives up to that expectation. This novel dives headfirst into some pretty heavy themes, and while the premise is familiar, the execution seems to be what sets it apart. Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of emotions, because this isn't a story that shies away from the darker aspects of human relationships.
What Works Well
The strength of this story lies in its complex characters, particularly the female lead (FL). She's not your typical damsel in distress; she's a survivor, hardened by a truly horrific past. I found her "cold" behavior, especially towards her child, to be understandable, if not entirely sympathetic. The novel does a good job of showing us why she is the way she is, making her choices, even the questionable ones, feel grounded in her experiences. I especially liked that the child in the story acted like a real child and not like a mini adult. I also appreciated that the author was frank about sex. It's refreshing when characters in these novels act like real people.
The male lead (ML), while initially frustrating, also undergoes significant development. He starts off making hasty judgments and assumptions, but he eventually confronts his own shortcomings and strives to improve. I enjoyed seeing him realizing that his past doesn't excuse his bad behavior and that he apologizes for it.
Areas of Concern
The ending felt a bit abrupt. A few extra chapters to tie up some loose ends would have been appreciated. Also, the villains seemed to be there for the sake of having villains.

I Got Divorced And Abandoned My Family is a compelling, albeit emotionally challenging, read. While it has some flaws, the well-developed characters and exploration of complex themes make it a worthwhile experience.
