My Thoughts on I Became The Rabbit Swordsman In A Novel
"I Became The Rabbit Swordsman In A Novel" had me intrigued from the get-go with its whimsical premise of transmigration into a fairytale. The idea of a male protagonist becoming a female rabbit swordsman is certainly unique, and the early chapters drew me in with their lighthearted tone. However, as I delved deeper, some significant issues began to surface that tempered my initial enthusiasm.
First Impressions
Initially, the story felt like a fun, refreshing take on the transmigration genre. I appreciated the humor and the seemingly well-executed translation, which made for a smooth reading experience. The MC's personality also stood out – she seemed like a character I could root for as she navigated her new life as a rabbit swordswoman.
What Works Well
The initial concept is definitely a strong point. The idea of transmigrating into a children's fairytale world offers a lot of potential for creative storytelling. The writing style, at least in the beginning, is engaging and humorous, making it easy to get invested in the story. I also thought the MC's initial attitude and personality were quite appealing.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, several aspects of the story took a nosedive as I progressed. One of the most glaring issues is the portrayal of a side character who is presented as a pervert. The fact that the MC seems to dismiss his actions, even when they border on assault, is deeply troubling. This isn't just a matter of personal preference; it significantly impacts the overall tone and enjoyment of the novel.
Another major problem is the lack of depth in other characters and world-building. It feels as though the MC exists in a vacuum, with the supporting cast being largely forgettable and the setting underdeveloped. This lack of substance makes it difficult to become truly invested in the story's progression. Finally, the gender-bender aspect of the novel felt largely irrelevant to the plot. It's a shame, as I felt it could have been a unique selling point.

Final Verdict
"I Became The Rabbit Swordsman In A Novel" had the potential to be a truly enjoyable and unique read. However, problematic character portrayals and a lack of depth ultimately drag it down. While the initial premise and writing style are promising, the execution falls short, leaving me feeling disappointed. Overall, it's a mixed bag with some redeeming qualities, but significant flaws that are hard to ignore.
