Description
In the eternal winter of the Duke’s mansion, a cursed beast resides. The owner of the place and the male lead in the book, Duke Winternox. Carol became his night-guarding tutor. Originally, she was destined to die entangled in his rampage. To survive, she should have avoided getting involved with him, but on the other hand, she also wanted to prevent his tragedy. She only wanted to teach him that he was not the only one cursed, but what he learned from her was not just that. “It’s hot and silent. I wonder what the teacher looks like?” She read the longing contained in his fingers. And just like all the other female leads, Carol failed to train him. “…You’ve got the wrong person.” “Got it wrong?” The breath digging into her earlobe was hot. “Remembering the moment I touched the teacher’s cheek, I thought about it every night.” The voice, soaked in heat and cracked, bound her. “How could I be mistaken?”

Failed to Train the Beast Male Lead Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on Failed to Train the Beast Male Lead
I dove into "Failed to Train the Beast Male Lead" with a mix of curiosity and excitement, and I have to say, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. The premise alone – a sparrow-beastperson hybrid tutoring a cursed, blind, and beastly male lead – is enough to pique anyone's interest. The story definitely has its strengths, but also a few areas where it stumbles.
First Impressions
Initially, I was completely charmed. The early chapters are undeniably cute and heartwarming. The dynamic between the female lead and the male lead, especially the attention given to his adjustments to blindness and the inclusion of Braille, was a refreshing and thoughtful touch. It felt like the author was genuinely invested in crafting a believable and sensitive portrayal of disability, which is always a huge plus in my book. The female lead's interactions with her brothers also added a delightful layer of familial warmth to the story.
What Works Well
The core strength of this novel lies in its initial premise and execution. Watching the two leads connect and heal each other, particularly when the male lead is still in his beast form, is genuinely touching. The author creates a believable bond between them, built on mutual understanding and care. The translation quality is also something worth noting; it’s smooth and easy to read, which definitely enhances the overall reading experience.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the story seems to lose some of its charm as it progresses. For me, and it seems for other readers too, things take a turn after the male lead's curse is lifted. The plot veers into more generic transmigration territory, complete with an obsessive, yandere male lead. This shift in tone and focus detracts from what made the beginning so special.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Failed to Train the Beast Male Lead" is a decent read with a lot of potential that, in my opinion, isn't fully realized. The beginning is strong, heartwarming, and unique, but the latter half unfortunately falls into familiar tropes. If you're looking for a cute and charming story with a unique premise, it’s worth checking out, but be prepared for a shift in tone and some potentially frustrating plot developments. I’d give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.
