The premise is undeniably intriguing: Dowon, our protagonist, is a seasoned transmigator on his third go-around. He lands near the imperial palace's poison garden and immediately blurts out spoilers, catching the attention of the dark prince, Yiyang. It's a recipe for comedic chaos, and the initial chapters definitely deliver on that front. The European-inspired setting and the promise of a strong, playful protagonist had me hooked.
What Works Well
I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between Dowon and Yiyang. The novel really shines when exploring their developing relationship. There's something undeniably charming about a "manly gay couple" navigating the complexities of court intrigue and personal feelings. I can see why many readers found the plot engaging, with issues seemingly resolving themselves satisfyingly as the story progresses. And I especially appreciate the fact that the ML doesn't suddenly become 'nicer' just because he likes the MC.
