My Thoughts on Dear My Horror
"Dear My Horror" is definitely a story that's going to stick with me for a while. It's a dark, twisted take on a Cinderella-esque narrative, and while it's not always an easy read, it's undeniably compelling. I found myself completely absorbed in the characters' journeys, even when those journeys were incredibly uncomfortable.
First Impressions
Going in, I knew this wasn't going to be a light and fluffy romance. The tags alone—abusive characters, male yandere, depictions of cruelty—made that abundantly clear. But I was intrigued by the promise of complex character development and a story that pushes boundaries. The manhwa adaptation piqued my interest as well, although I've heard it's significantly toned down compared to the novel.
What Works Well
The character development is, without a doubt, the strongest aspect of "Dear My Horror." The author masterfully portrays subtle shifts in both the MC and ML, making their actions feel believable, even when morally questionable. I particularly appreciated how the MC never really lost his spirit, always fighting back in his own way. The ML is a fascinating character, a narcissistic and manipulative individual whose warped worldview stems from a deeply disturbing upbringing. I was impressed by the author's ability to make me, against my better judgment, develop a strange sort of… empathy?… for him as the story progressed.

Final Verdict
"Dear My Horror" is not for the faint of heart. It's a dark and disturbing story with morally gray characters and a plot that explores the depths of obsession. However, if you're looking for a novel that will challenge your perceptions and leave you thinking long after you've finished reading, this might be exactly what you're looking for. Just be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions and a story that doesn't shy away from uncomfortable truths. I give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
