The premise is intriguing: a second chance at life, a dangerous engagement, and a female lead trying to navigate a treacherous world of nobles and royalty. The initial chapters hooked me with the promise of political intrigue and character growth. But as I continued reading, I found myself wavering.
What Works Well
I appreciate that the story doesn't immediately erase the protagonist's past trauma. Her PTSD feels like a genuine obstacle she must overcome, and I respect the author for acknowledging that healing isn't instantaneous. The male lead also has a certain charm, and their interactions can be genuinely entertaining. The underlying plot is also well-executed, keeping me engaged with the story.
Areas of Concern
The biggest issue I wrestled with was the protagonist's naivete. There were moments when I found her actions frustrating, especially given her past experiences. Her impulsiveness and tendency to leap headfirst into trouble tested my patience.
