My Thoughts on Creator’s Favoritism
Creator’s Favoritism had me intrigued from the get-go. The premise of a character trying to become their creator's favorite to avoid… well, death, is certainly unique. I jumped in eager to see how this played out within an action fantasy hunter academy setting.
First Impressions
Initially, I was hooked by the sheer absurdity of Maeng Sunwoo's situation. The early chapters are a whirlwind of her trying to game the system, leveraging web novel tropes to her advantage. There’s a definite comedic undertone that I found appealing, especially the scenes where she’s desperately trying to cultivate a "hard-working-weak-to-strong-protagonist" persona. I couldn’t help but root for her, even when her plans seemed a bit… questionable.
What Works Well
The cleverness of the protagonist is a major draw. I appreciate how she actively tries to manipulate the story's trajectory. The author does a great job of showcasing her efforts, making her feel like a proactive force within the narrative. I also found myself enjoying the supporting characters, each adding their own flavor to the overall dynamic. The story clips along at a great pace, and I found myself easily getting sucked in.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the initial chapters, I can see where some readers might find the execution a bit lacking. Maeng Sunwoo's character, while entertaining, can come across as impulsive and somewhat reckless. Her actions, while intended to be strategic, sometimes feel more like spur-of-the-moment decisions without a clear plan. This can be frustrating if you prefer a more calculated and methodical protagonist. There were times I wanted her to slow down and think things through a bit more.

Final Verdict
Overall, I found "Creator’s Favoritism" to be an enjoyable, albeit flawed, read. The premise is intriguing, and the comedic elements are well-executed. However, the protagonist's impulsiveness might not appeal to all readers. If you're looking for a lighthearted action fantasy with a unique twist, this might be worth checking out. Just be prepared for a protagonist who sometimes acts before she thinks. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
