Description
Jungmin (Soo)’s close older brother and first love, Yoo Shinwoo, dreams of marrying an Omega and building a sweet, loving family. For this reason, Jungmin had hoped to become an Omega even before manifesting, but as if fate were playing a cruel joke, he, who so desperately wished for it, became an Alpha. Meanwhile, his twin younger brother, Youngmin, became an Omega and got engaged to Jungmin’s first love. But Jungmin couldn’t give up on him. He believed that if he could somehow become an Omega, Yoo Shinwoo would look his way. Clinging to this foolish lingering attachment, he kept taking drugs to become an Omega, even though he knew they were poison. Meanwhile, Kim Joohwan (Gong), who periodically has relations with Jungmin under the pretext of “correction,” watches this with amusement. Kim Joohwan feels an inexplicable anger and discomfort seeing Jungmin, who is willing to “correct” with any Alpha if it means becoming an Omega. But it doesn’t matter. No, he wishes Jungmin would suffer even more, be in even greater pain. Because the more Jungmin suffers, the more likely he is to eventually turn to Kim Joohwan.

My Thoughts on Correction
"Correction" is definitely a web novel that leaves a mark. Diving into this story, I knew I was in for a ride, given its genre mix of adult drama and tragedy, all wrapped up in a yaoi setting. And a ride it was, a turbulent one at that.
First Impressions
Right off the bat, the complex web of relationships hooked me. The story centers around Jungmin, an Alpha wrestling with unrequited love for his childhood friend, Shinwoo. Shinwoo, in turn, is fixated on Jungmin's Omega twin, Youngmin, creating a dramatic love triangle. The obsessive tendencies of certain characters definitely set the stage for a potentially captivating, albeit angsty, narrative.
What Works Well
The raw emotion is a major draw. I found myself deeply invested in the characters' pain and longing. The author does a good job of portraying the internal struggles, particularly Jungmin's, as he navigates his feelings and sacrifices. The narrative's focus on his perspective allows for a strong connection with his character, even when his choices are questionable. I also appreciated the introduction of Joohwan, whose presence adds another layer of complexity to the already tangled web of relationships.
Areas of Concern
While I was drawn in by the drama, there were moments of frustration. Jungmin's single-minded pursuit of Shinwoo, even when it leads him down a destructive path, can be exasperating. Similarly, the actions of the "red flag" male lead, who seems to inadvertently (or perhaps intentionally?) push Jungmin towards self-destructive choices, raised some eyebrows. The constant angst, while initially appealing, sometimes felt excessive, bordering on melodrama.

If you're a fan of dramatic narratives with obsessive love, unrequited feelings, and characters pushed to their limits, this might be your cup of tea. However, be warned: this is not a lighthearted read. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, and you might need to prepare yourself for some potentially heartbreaking turns. While the intensity can be overwhelming at times, the story's ability to evoke such strong feelings is a testament to its compelling, albeit flawed, nature.
