Description
※Warning: This novel contains intense violence, non-consensual coercive relationships, and offensive expressions. Please be mindful when purchasing.※ Also, the background and settings in the work are all fictional, and we clarify that regions, people, organizations, and other company names have no relation to reality. Lee Eunseok became an orphan after losing his family to the ‘Gate’ incident that occurred 20 years ago. Though he dreamed of awakening as an Esper to take revenge on the monsters, he reached adulthood without awakening. Among the limited choices given to orphans, he chose to join the military. After working diligently in the field, he was considered a promising candidate for the next team leader position in the Intelligence Command. However, during a mandatory health examination, he is identified as an S-class Guide. “Mr. Lee Eunseok, as you have awakened as a Guide during your health examination, you will be reassigned to the Bureau of Ability Management.” “Who decided this?” “We are not here to ask for permission, but to inform you.” Moreover, under the Guide Protection Act, Guides are not allowed to enter Gates. While Eunseok, who had been a field special agent, contemplates his desire to enter Gates, Choi Hanseo, an S-class Esper and guild master of White Tiger, approaches him. “Do you have the courage to enter Gates with me?” Eunseok begins his life as a Guide after contracting with Choi Hanseo on the condition of participating in Gate raids. However, he finds himself increasingly bothered by S-class Hunter Choi Hanseo’s subtle yet obvious advances… “We seem to need more efficient guiding. For instance…” Choi Hanseo trails off, raising his free hand to meaningfully brush his thumb across Eunseok’s lower lip.

Zero Point Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on Zero Point
"Zero Point" promised a thrilling blend of action, romance, and guideverse mechanics, and after diving in, I found it mostly delivered, though with a few caveats. This novel definitely isn't your typical fluffy romance, and that's something I appreciated. It's got a faster pace, a stronger focus on action, and a world that feels dangerous and exciting.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the premise of a military-trained MC suddenly finding himself as a guide. The idea of a badass soldier navigating the intricacies of a guideverse intrigued me, and I was eager to see how the author would handle it. I was also really curious to see how the romance would play out.
What Works Well
The action sequences in "Zero Point" are a definite highlight. I found them easy to visualize, and the author does a great job of immersing you in the heat of battle. I also appreciated the world-building, particularly the explanations of the guideverse mechanics. It's presented in a way that's accessible even if you're not familiar with the genre. I also really liked the relationship between the MC and the ML. They're not shackled by typical tropes, and it's refreshing to see a couple with healthy communication and clear consent (with a little bit of manipulation). The characters, especially the MC and ML, are very well-written and have great chemistry.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the overall story, there were a few aspects that held it back from being a complete home run. I felt that the emotional depth between the MC and ML could have been explored further. While their relationship is enjoyable, I sometimes wished for a deeper connection that would make me feel more invested in their lives. I also felt that the ML's life was not explored enough, and that the story focused too much on the MC.

Final Verdict
Overall, I found "Zero Point" to be an engaging and enjoyable read. The action is well-written, the world-building is solid, and the relationship between the MC and ML is refreshing. While there are a few areas that could be improved, the novel ultimately delivers a thrilling and satisfying experience. If you're looking for a guideverse novel with a strong focus on action and a unique dynamic between the leads, "Zero Point" is definitely worth checking out.
