Description
Cillier, the daughter of a treasonous duke, marries the crown prince, Persen, like a hostage. In a marriage that’s nothing but a sham, living a life with her husband’s cold indifference, she gradually withers away. However, in an accident, Persen loses all memories of Cillier, only Cillier… Her heart wavers at his affectionate appearance just like a long time ago. “Now, I can’t stop crying.” “Ah, uh, hmm!” It was a wildly violent kiss. Persen ruthlessly moved his hips. He unhesitatingly thrust himself into her body, even the remaining root. Cillier wished for him to leave her alone. If only he had left her as a princess who wasn’t loved, just like before. So she could live with that familiar misery. But his tenderness was too sweet to turn away from. She wanted him to devour her completely, even if it meant leaving not a single hair behind. “I love you, Cillier.” No. You don’t love me. Will this be an opportunity to regain him, or an irreversible mistake.

My Thoughts on Unlovable
"Unlovable" is definitely a rollercoaster of emotions, a story that throws you into the deep end of angst and misunderstanding. As someone who enjoys a dramatic romance, I found myself intrigued by the premise: a husband seemingly indifferent to his wife, amnesia, and a mystery slowly unraveling. While the ride wasn't always smooth, the core story kept me invested.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the tragic setup and the promise of a regretful male lead. There's something compelling about a character who has to confront the consequences of his past actions, especially when memory loss is involved. The European ambience and hints of a curse added another layer of intrigue.
What Works Well
The strongest aspect of "Unlovable" is its ability to evoke strong emotions. I felt the anguish of the characters, their resilience in the face of adversity, and the power of their love. The way the story gradually reveals the reasons behind the husband's behavior is well-paced, and I appreciated how the narrative alternated between the present and past memories to build suspense. The male lead's perspective offers clarity and prevents him from becoming irredeemable, which is a huge plus. The romantic tension is palpable, and the ultimate reunion offers a satisfying catharsis.
Areas of Concern
I did find some aspects of the story less compelling. The writing style felt a bit dry in places, which made the story feel longer than it actually was. While the smut tag is present, the descriptions aren't particularly explicit, so readers looking for heavy smut may be disappointed. I also agree with other readers that the ending felt a bit abrupt and could have benefited from a longer epilogue to fully explore the aftermath and give the characters more time to enjoy their hard-won happiness.
Final Verdict
Overall, I'd recommend "Unlovable" to readers who enjoy angst-filled romances with a touch of fantasy. Despite some minor flaws, the strong emotional core, well-developed characters, and satisfying resolution make it a worthwhile read. Just be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions!
