Description
A full day had passed since the cruise ship sank, and he barely made it to an island somewhere on the equator. An island with no one else in sight. How was he supposed to survive here? How would he ever get back? And then, he found a man washed ashore by the tide. An unconscious, arrogant Alpha. “…I can’t just leave him to die.” He dragged the man to a safer spot and gave him water, just enough to keep him alive. “Damn it, no!” Before he knew it, he was caught up in the alpha’s rut. …Is it even possible to leave this island safely?

My Thoughts on Tropical Island
"Tropical Island" promised a steamy, action-packed omegaverse adventure, and for the most part, it delivered. I went in expecting a thrilling blend of romance, mystery, and mature themes, and I wasn't entirely disappointed. While the novel has its flaws, the unique setting and compelling characters kept me hooked.
First Impressions
The premise itself is intriguing: a BL story set on a tropical island is not something you see every day. The cover art is definitely eye-catching and pulled me in immediately. I was ready for a wild ride of survival, romance, and maybe a little bit of cannibalism (yes, you read that right!).
What Works Well
The chemistry between the MC and ML is undeniable. The initial dynamic of a seemingly arrogant alpha softening into a caring partner was well-executed. I appreciated that the MC wasn't a helpless omega, and the author did a good job of portraying his strengths and vulnerabilities in a realistic way, given the circumstances. The smut scenes were definitely hot, and the action sequences kept the plot moving at a brisk pace.
Areas of Concern
While the story started strong, I felt like the middle faltered a bit, and the ending was too abrupt. I was left wanting more development in the characters' relationship and a more satisfying resolution to the overall plot. Also, the ML's personality shift felt a little too drastic at times. He goes from being an alpha to a green flag, which is not a bad thing, but it felt a little too convenient and unrealistic. I also found the MC's military background to be underutilized.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Tropical Island" is a decent read if you're looking for a quick, smutty omegaverse story with a unique setting. While it's not perfect, the compelling characters and thrilling plot make it an enjoyable experience. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. I just wish there had been more side stories to flesh out the world and characters.
