My Thoughts on There Is No Eternal Supporting Role
"There Is No Eternal Supporting Role" is a web novel that I found to be quite the mixed bag, ultimately leaning toward the enjoyable side. With a solid 4.6/5 rating and a whole host of interesting tags, I dove in expecting a fun ride, and for the most part, I got one.
First Impressions
The premise immediately grabbed me: a story subverting the usual tropes with an "awkward protagonist" navigating a world filled with "aristocracy" and "discrimination." The "European ambience" was a nice touch, adding to the overall immersion. I was ready for some fantasy romance with a comedic twist!
What Works Well
The character interactions were definitely a highlight. I especially loved Tito; he is absolutely adorable and lights up the story whenever he appears. The main couple, while having their bumps, were ultimately satisfying. I appreciated that the female lead, despite her initial timidity, eventually owned her feelings and expressed her love for the male lead directly. That's a refreshing change of pace! The male lead, despite some potentially problematic obsessive tendencies, manages to avoid crossing into truly reprehensible territory, which I appreciated. The story also wraps up nicely, giving satisfying conclusions to most of the characters, including a glimpse into Tito's future and the FL and ML's growing family.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the novel, I did find some aspects frustrating. The female lead's repeated mistakes, despite warnings, tested my patience. Her actions sometimes felt a bit… careless, leading to unnecessary complications and rescues. I also found myself feeling conflicted about some of the other male leads. While their devotion was touching, it also felt a bit objectifying at times, which left a slightly sour taste.

Final Verdict
Overall, "There Is No Eternal Supporting Role" is an engaging read with its fair share of flaws. The charming characters, especially Tito, and the eventual growth of the main couple kept me hooked. While the female lead's occasional blunders and the slightly problematic dynamics with the other male leads were frustrating, they didn't detract too much from my overall enjoyment. If you're looking for a fantasy romance with a touch of comedy and don't mind a few bumps along the way, I'd recommend giving this one a shot.
