My Thoughts on The World I Was Supporting Was Real
"The World I Was Supporting Was Real" is quite the rollercoaster of a novel. It's one of those stories that grabs you with its unique premise, but whether it holds your attention throughout seems to be a matter of personal preference.
First Impressions
Initially, I was hooked by the concept: a seemingly ordinary guy unknowingly becomes a god-like figure by donating to a web novel, inadvertently shaping a real fantasy world. The humor derived from his degenerate requests having massive, unintended consequences was genuinely funny. Seeing how his actions rippled through the world, creating bizarre religious doctrines and empowering unlikely figures, was a blast.
What Works Well
The interaction between the MC and the web novel author, who's basically fishing for donations to fuel her divine power, is a definite highlight. The MC's arrogance, coupled with his complete ignorance of the true impact of his actions, creates a delicious sense of irony and anticipation. I also appreciated the initial originality of the plot, where each donation triggered significant story progression in the "manhwa" world.
Areas of Concern
However, the charm does seem to wear thin as the story progresses. The humor, which starts off as quirky and amusing, apparently becomes repetitive and stale for some. I can see how the "unhinged" and "pe*verted" aspects, while initially entertaining, might start to feel overdone after a while. The introduction of a harem also seems to be a sticking point for many. The rapid addition of multiple female leads, some of whom are considered underdeveloped and unlikeable, apparently detracts from the main plot and makes the characters feel two-dimensional. The original female lead that the MC was supporting flattens out over time to be more of a accessory than a character.

Final Verdict
"The World I Was Supporting Was Real" has a fascinating premise and a strong start, but it seems to struggle with maintaining its momentum. If you enjoy over-the-top humor, a unique twist on the "unknowingly a god" trope, and don't mind a potentially repetitive plot, this might be worth a read. However, if you're easily turned off by excessive perversion, a rapidly expanding harem, and potential character derailment, you might want to proceed with caution.
