"The Crippled Journey" is a novel that grabbed my attention with its promise of a mature, manly gay romance set against a backdrop of criminals and farming. Right off the bat, the writing quality is apparent. The author clearly has a knack for storytelling, and the translation seems to be holding up nicely, which is always a huge plus in the world of web novels. I was immediately drawn in by the setting and the premise of these two men finding each other in such a harsh environment.

There's a definite elephant in the room, and it's the opening chapter. The male lead's actions, specifically the gang violence, are deeply disturbing.
