My Thoughts on Master, Please Tell Me About Your First Love!
This novel was quite the experience! A rollercoaster, as some might say. "Master, Please Tell Me About Your First Love!" dives headfirst into the complexities of first love, long separations, and a healthy dose of mature, adult themes. It’s a story that definitely left an impression.
First Impressions
Initially, I found myself drawn in by the premise: a modern-day omegaverse setting where a long-held first love resurfaces. The blend of comedy and mature themes intrigued me, and I was eager to see how the author would navigate the characters' emotional journeys, especially with the added element of childcare.
What Works Well
The exploration of Beomchan’s feelings is a definite highlight. His intense, almost obsessive, love for Seungjae, while sometimes overwhelming, felt undeniably real. The story does a good job of portraying the internal conflict he faces, grappling with his emotions and assumptions. I appreciated that the author eventually gave us Seungjae's perspective too. It provided a much-needed balance and allowed me to connect with him on a deeper level. The shift in perspective offered a refreshing change of pace, revealing Seungjae's calmer, more mature approach to the unfolding relationship. Also, the kids in the story are written realistically, which I found to be a nice touch.
Areas of Concern
Beomchan's character, while endearing to some, can be a bit much at times. His constant back-and-forth with his feelings, fueled by assumptions and hesitations, can feel repetitive. There were moments when I wished he would just take a leap of faith instead of endlessly overthinking. Additionally, while the story generally maintains a lighthearted tone, there are brief instances where the relationship dynamics veer into potentially toxic territory. Thankfully, these moments are fleeting, and the characters eventually find their way to a more stable and healthy dynamic.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Master, Please Tell Me About Your First Love!" is an enjoyable read, particularly if you're a fan of the "fluff-hurt-comfort-fluff sandwich" trope. While Beomchan's character might not be for everyone, the story's exploration of first love, mature themes, and the eventual shift in perspective make it a worthwhile journey. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
