My Thoughts on I’m the 99th Supporting Actress, but He’s Obsessed with Me
"I’m the 99th Supporting Actress, but He’s Obsessed with Me" certainly grabbed my attention with its intriguing title and steamy tags. After diving in, I found myself with mixed feelings, though ultimately leaning towards enjoying the experience.
First Impressions
The premise is undeniably captivating. We have Eun-yul, reincarnated as Lia Roshart, a super-minor character – the 99th supporting actress, no less! Fate throws her into the path of Duke Lepierre Arden, a powerful and attractive noble with a… ahem… problem. His dysfunction and Lia's arrival set the stage for a passionate and potentially obsessive relationship. I was immediately hooked by the potential for both romance and humor.
What Works Well
The writing is definitely a strong point. The author does a great job of painting vivid scenes and creating a world that's easy to get lost in. The intimate scenes are… well, steamy is an understatement! They're definitely not for the faint of heart, but they are well-written and contribute to the overall dynamic between Lia and Lepierre. I particularly enjoyed how the story explores Lepierre's vulnerability and Lia's role in helping him overcome his issues. There's a real sense of connection between the characters, even amidst all the R-18 content.
Areas of Concern
However, I did find myself occasionally frustrated with the female lead. While I appreciate her initial naiveté given her circumstances, there were times when her gullibility stretched my patience. The misunderstandings, while a common trope, felt a bit overused and stemmed from Lia's seemingly blind faith in the original novel's plot. This, at times, made it difficult to fully root for her, especially when her actions led to unnecessary drama.

Final Verdict
Despite my reservations about the FL's decision-making, "I’m the 99th Supporting Actress, but He’s Obsessed with Me" offers a compelling blend of romance, steam, and fantasy. If you're looking for a story with a strong focus on the relationship between the leads and aren't easily bothered by naive characters or frequent misunderstandings, this might be right up your alley. Just be prepared for some very explicit content! I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
