My Thoughts on I Want To Live A Normal Life, But I’m An SSS-Class Hunter
"I Want To Live A Normal Life, But I’m An SSS-Class Hunter" presents an intriguing premise: a reincarnated Demon King trying to, well, live a normal life. The blend of comedy, fantasy, and romance, coupled with the "strong from the start" protagonist, initially drew me in. However, after delving into the available chapters, I found myself with mixed feelings.
First Impressions
The initial chapters are promising, especially the unique setup of a female protagonist in a hunter-genre story with a past life as a Demon King. The idea of a protagonist juggling immense power with everyday life is always appealing, and the system integration seemed like it could add a fun dynamic. I was eager to see how the author would balance these elements.
What Works Well
The concept itself is a strong point. A reincarnated demon lord as a female hunter has huge potential. The family dynamic, especially the reunion with her father, is something that could resonate if handled well. The initial premise of the main character's past life and powers is interesting, and the system seems to be well-integrated into the world.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, several issues detracted from my enjoyment. The pacing feels uneven, with some chapters bogged down by what feels like filler. The main character's personality also felt inconsistent with her past life, acting more like a typical teenager than a former Demon King. But the biggest issue, and one that was consistently raised, is the heavy-handed nationalism, specifically regarding Japan. While historical context can add depth, the execution here seems to cross the line into xenophobia, overshadowing the plot and character development. The constant negative portrayal became distracting and undermined the overall experience. The unrealistic and quick reconciliation with the father after 19 years of separation is also a serious issue for many readers.

Final Verdict
"I Want To Live A Normal Life, But I’m An SSS-Class Hunter" has potential, but ultimately falls short due to pacing issues, character inconsistencies, and overbearing nationalism. While the premise is intriguing, the execution needs significant improvement to truly shine. I'm giving it a 2.5/5.
