My Thoughts on I Refuse To Reject His Proposal
"I Refuse To Reject His Proposal" is a completed fantasy romance that I finally got around to reading, and I have mixed feelings. The premise, focusing on a forced marriage in a European-esque aristocratic setting, definitely piqued my interest. While it wasn't a perfect read, it offered some enjoyable elements that kept me engaged.
First Impressions
Initially, I was a bit wary, especially with the "obsessive love" tag. I'm always a little hesitant when I see that, fearing potentially toxic dynamics. However, I quickly found myself drawn into the world and the developing relationship between the leads.
What Works Well
The strongest aspect of this novel, in my opinion, is the male lead, Lloyd. He starts off as seemingly indifferent, but he quickly reveals himself to be a genuinely caring and thoughtful partner. It was refreshing to see a male lead who defies the "trash husband" trope and demonstrates a capacity for unconditional love and understanding. I also appreciated the focus on medicine, it added a unique layer to the story beyond just the romance. The fast-paced romance was also a plus for me; I hate when stories drag on and on with the leads just dancing around their feelings.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the story overall, the female lead, Eileen, did frustrate me at times. Her moments of hesitation and denseness could be a bit tiresome. The drama towards the end felt a little drawn out, but it didn't completely derail my enjoyment.

Final Verdict
Overall, "I Refuse To Reject His Proposal" is a decent read. While it has some flaws, the strengths of the male lead and the relatively fast-paced romance make it an enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a fantasy romance with a caring male lead and don't mind some frustrating moments with the female lead, this might be worth checking out. I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.
