My Thoughts on Half Possesion

"Half Possesion" promised a quick dip into a world of aristocracy, arranged marriages, and a touch of the fantastical, and for the most part, it delivered. I dove in expecting a light read, and I wasn't entirely disappointed, although I was left wanting more.

First Impressions

The initial setup is intriguing: a European-esque setting, nobles, and a female protagonist with more than meets the eye. The cover art certainly piqued my interest, hinting at the dual nature of the female lead. I was curious to see how the story would unfold, especially with the promise of "multiple identities."

What Works Well

The plot twist regarding the FL's personality was genuinely well done. The story wasted no time getting to the point, and I appreciated the fast pace. There's a certain charm to the frivolous Arbella, and I found myself sympathizing with her as the story progressed. The author managed to create a compelling dynamic in a very limited space. The concept of the "half possession" is explored with good use of the short story format. It was an interesting approach to the genre.

My biggest issue, like many others, is the brevity of the story. Just as things were getting really interesting, it ended! I felt like the author had just scratched the surface of a much larger, richer world. The story could have benefited from further development of the characters and the overall plot. It felt like a missed opportunity to explore the consequences of the ending. I would have enjoyed seeing more of the "after."
