Description
“That’s… my pet… octopus!” Cha Suyoon, a D-rank Guide barely scraping by on one-time Guiding sessions, receives a Guiding request from Yeo Taegyung, the S-rank Esper known throughout the nation. During the Guiding, Suyoon discovers that Taegyung is not human. Upon waking, Taegyung transforms into a strange, small octopus-like creature and disappears. Suddenly facing the threat of unemployment, a despairing Suyoon visits a seafood restaurant where he coincidentally finds Taegyung, now an octopus, in a tank. Left with no other choice, Suyoon rescues him and brings him home… “I apologize for what happened today. I’m also sorry for yelling, cursing, and hitting your forehead.” Yeo Taegyung crossed his arms, or rather, two of his tent**les, as if challenging me to say more. I didn’t even know that was possible. “But if it weren’t for me, Esper Yeo Taegyung, you would’ve been sold off as sashimi! Or sushi… Ow!” An enraged Yeo Taegyung flung a magnet at my face. I yelped in surprise, and Yeo Taegyung flinched slightly, then peeked out from his water tank, cautiously watching me. I sighed and checked the magnet Yeo Taegyung had thrown. Incredibly, it was shaped like the Korean character ‘ㅗ’ (a rude hand gesture). Is he… flipping me off right now? “You can’t throw this at people!” “Chirp.” “It hurts! Seriously, it hurt so much during the Guiding too. If it weren’t for Researcher Ryu Gyungae, I would’ve ended up in the ER.” I exaggerated my suffering to Yeo Taegyung. But he just kept blowing black bubbles, as if asking, “So what?” Seriously, the attitudes of Espers who didn’t get proper Guiding… Every single one of them was obsessed with their pride. My stomach churned, but I tried to think rationally. I told myself to treat him like a difficult customer. “Anyway, since I’m partly responsible for what happened to you, Esper Yeo Taegyung, I’ll take responsibility and help you return to your original form. Just tell me how…” I trailed off, watching Yeo Taegyung’s tent**les ripple as he moved. Rolling his yellow and black eyes mischievously, he busily arranged the Korean alphabet magnets. The moment I saw the word he formed, I winced. “…….” Yeo Taegyung picked up a few more letters and placed them to the left. Then he completely retreated into his water tank, disappearing from sight. The letters on the floor were infuriating. Well, excuse me for trying to help!

My Thoughts on An Unbreakable World!
Alright, let's dive into "An Unbreakable World!" This novel had me intrigued from the get-go with its unique premise – a guideverse setting where a D-rank guide is saddled with an S-rank esper who happens to be a man-eating octopus hybrid. Yes, you read that right! It's a wild ride, and while it has some quirks, it definitely kept me entertained.
First Impressions
The cover is absolutely stunning, and that alone drew me in. The initial setup is compelling: Cha Suyoon, our seemingly ordinary guide, has to manage the eccentric and traumatized Yeo Taegyung. I was immediately interested in exploring their dynamic and how Suyoon would handle the chaos that comes with being the guide to such a powerful and unusual esper. The blend of modern-day life with fantasy elements, like gates to another world and psychic powers, is also a big plus for me.
What Works Well
The core strength of this novel lies in its characters and their relationship. The bickering couple trope is executed well, and the chemistry between Suyoon and Taegyung is undeniable. I found myself invested in their journey, especially as Taegyung grapples with his past trauma and Suyoon tries to help him navigate the complexities of his existence. The plot, while sometimes veering into the absurd, manages to keep things interesting with a mix of action, humor, and romance. The author does a great job of balancing the lighthearted moments with the darker, more serious themes. I'm always a sucker for a story where characters overcome their differences and build a strong bond, and "An Unbreakable World!" delivers on that front. The R-18 content is, uh, present, so if you're into that, it adds another layer to their relationship.

Final Verdict
Overall, "An Unbreakable World!" is a fun and engaging read. It's not without its flaws, but the unique premise, well-developed characters, and intriguing plot make it worth checking out. If you're looking for a novel with a strong male lead, a quirky romance, and a healthy dose of fantasy elements, then this might just be the story for you. I'd give it a solid recommendation, especially if you're in the mood for something a little different.
