Description
Albert, who had learned the beginner-level spell Magic Arrow at a very young age, was expected to do great things in the future. However, he was unable to learn any other spells. Albert’s father was a noble who heavily valued his dignity, so he banished his good-for-nothing son and granted him a house to stay in. There, Albert would live out more than ten years reading Magic Arrow spellbooks. After day after day of practice, he would unknowingly break the limit of his spell. To a young lady despairing that she would miss her exam, Albert would say: “I’ll take you there with Magic Arrow.” “How are you gonna do that using a spell with a firing range of 50 meters?” This is the story of a man pushing through hardships using his dysfunctional spell and eventually becoming the strongest magician—all while convinced that his Magic Arrow is only slightly stronger than most.

My Thoughts on Train Elementary Level Spell, Magic Arrow to the Absolute Limit The Exiled Noble Student Not Giving up, Train to Become the Strongest
First Impressions
Okay, let's be real, the title is a mouthful. But beyond that, I went into "Train Elementary Level Spell, Magic Arrow to the Absolute Limit" expecting another run-of-the-mill exile story. What I found was… more complicated. It definitely leans into some familiar tropes, but there are glimmers of something more interesting happening here. The premise of mastering a seemingly useless skill through sheer dedication is genuinely appealing.
What Works Well
The core concept of pushing a basic skill, Magic Arrow, to its absolute limit is, in my opinion, the strongest aspect. I enjoyed the slow burn of discovering the versatility of this spell. The protagonist, despite his initial lack of confidence, isn't immediately overpowered. His growth feels earned, and I appreciate that he doesn't solve every problem instantly. The early plot points also felt more engaging than many other novels in this genre. The story has a decent base and that kept me interested for a while.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the execution doesn't always live up to the potential. The protagonist's initial "wet towel" personality can be grating, and his emotional growth feels excessively slow. While some might appreciate his kindness, I found his constant need to be nice to everyone a bit tiring. I also felt that the potential for exploring the versatility of Magic Arrow was underutilized. It often felt like the author was holding back, resorting to simple power increases rather than truly innovative applications of the spell. The world-building and secondary characters also felt somewhat underdeveloped, leading to a sense of missed opportunities.

Final Verdict
"Train Elementary Level Spell, Magic Arrow to the Absolute Limit" is a mixed bag. While the core concept and initial plot are promising, the slow character growth, underutilized magic system, and underdeveloped world hold it back. If you're a fan of the "mastering a basic skill" trope and don't mind a slow-burn story with a somewhat passive protagonist, you might find something to enjoy here. However, if you're looking for a fast-paced, action-packed adventure with complex characters and a well-developed world, you might want to look elsewhere. I'm sitting on the fence with this one; it's not terrible, but it's not great either.
